Barbara Gal + Ignacio Mouser
In the Main Gallery: “WHEN ONE IS NOT ENOUGH”  Barbara GalThis show is a collection of photos, ones that are a perfect capture of a special place or a specific time. They range from a sunset taken off my balcony, to a valley in Glacier National Park to the central square in Krakow. When I look at these, I am transported back to that place, and can hear the sounds, smell the smells and feel the weather. I love recording times in my life this way, to be revisited often. The books are an extension of that idea of multiples, often to the extreme. They are structures for storing and sharing information, a means of getting way beyond the limits of a single image or technique. All of them serve as containers for memories. Hopefully you will enjoy visiting these places through my collages.
In the Associate Space:  ”Ignacio Mouser and Friends”Ignacio Mouser is a bizzness mogul, sometimes artist and tango dancer. When he is not dumpster diving behind some of Denver’s finest eating establishments, you might see him out snapping photos. His favorite subjects are the paper-mache animals created by his sometines collaborater Lisa Michot. Lisa developed her technique of using papier-mâché after moving to Boulder, CO in 1999 and finding it perfect for the dry climate. After creating her small characters, which are about seven inches high, she takes them to various locations to be photographed. In the photographs the sculptures become monumental and dwarf the other elements and environments. Her aesthetic is on-the-spot, intuitive and immediate, with a humorous, whimsical twist.
