ARTIST STATEMENT: I am inspired to paint the brilliance of nature. I feel an energy vibration from trees and clouds and flowers, and I enjoy feeling the oneness we share with these lovely inhabitants of planet Earth!My mother and grandmother were painters, and I began painting at an early age. I have worked in watercolor, pastel chalk and acrylics, but always come back to oil painting as my most loved medium. I have been fortunate to work with many gifted teachers along the way.
When I am painting, a deep well of energy seems to emerge from the pit of my stomach! I find myself allowing the painting to emerge as it will. I love the challenge of capturing something beautiful and evocative. The intention of my paintings is to inspire others to celebrate how profoundly fortunate we all are to simply be here and now in nature.
I live in Louisville, Colorado, a geographically unique place where the Great Plains meet the Rocky Mountains. This topography creates interesting weather patterns and especially gorgeous clouds. My gaze is generally upwards, simply astounded by the sky!
