| ARTIST STATEMENT: My aesthetic preferences are based on my education in the Stieglitz State Academy of Art in Saint Petersburg, Russia and long professional experience as an exhibit designer. I would like to detemenate my painting as Abstract Expessionism with biological elements. My personal expressions of self recognition throughlines,that follow the path of water in nature and in the paint as it touches paper.
Water has formed compositions – paiting on the paper the same way as creates the surface of the Earth, mountains, rivers and nourishing the world,flows through our veins in networks that resemble the roots, has shapes of the lightning in our skies and the patterns etched upon the rocks and dry soil.
Traditional watercolor technique is a universal language; each translucent layer is a period in time. Using quotations from nature, I see the smallness of large things, the vastness of small things, and the beauty and wonder that exists within the minute. |
